Use of m-banking services increased by 27%

 According to the recent global survey conducted by KPMG, Chinese people use their cell phones to get into the Internet. Being more specific, 77% of Chinese people use their mobile devices to carry out financial transactions, and 44% for retail transactions, while in India 38% are using them to shop, and 43% for financial business.

One and a half year ago the company conducted the similar survey. Now having compared the statistics it was found that the number of people using mobile phones for online transactions increased from 19% to 46%.

According to the third annual Global Consumers and Convergence survey, conducted by KPMG among over 4,000 consumers from 19 countries world wide, in spite of the fact that almost 60% of the consumers globally responded e-banking is very important for them, they are not ready to pay for it. 

The results of the certain research revealed some surprising regional differences and draws a clear picture to banks of consumers' future expectations.

Bangkok Bank is deploying Fiserv m-banking service

As it became known on Tuesday, Bangkok Bank signed up for Fiserv's Mobile Money service aiming to get access to its Internet banking platform from their handsets.


The new M-Com powered browser-based application now is available in two languages Thai and English. The new service enables customers to view account information, pay bills, transfer funds and top up their mobile phone account.

Motorola opens a new page in mobile banking

Malaysia-based mobile phones manufacturer Motorola established a partnership with China International Electronic Commerce Center, an agency operating under China's Ministry of Commerce responsible for the development of electronic information projects. The new agreement was signed to launch an m-commerce laboratory in Beijing. The laboratory is said to allow Motorola and its partners to develop the ecosystem and pre-integrate and validate the service prior to commercial deployments in China.
