Paying bills becomes easier now as customers can do it from anywhere with a Verizon Wireless BlackBerry or Get It Now-capable smartphone on conditions that they receive services from an institution that partners with Mobile Banking.

At present time the institutions which can offer their consumers to bank via their mobile handsets include Wachovia, Regions, SunTrust, USAA, Synovus, America First Credit Union (AFCU), Arvest, Bancorp South, FirstBank, South Financial and BECU. Mobile banking services provided by these entities allow users to transfer funds, pay bills on-line, check balances and review past transactions through the right devices.

Security at the access is ensured at the expense of a specific 8-digit initialization code as well as a required PIN. Only accounts signed up for online access can implement transfers and new Bill Pay payees cannot be set from a phone.
