Celent’s expectations of mobile banking

As Celent reports, financial institutions will continue to explore new models of conducting their business in the online environment.  According to the earlier predictions of the same Celent 2010 will be very popular among customers preferring mobile banking.

Mobile banking is still "developing" service. Even though most of the largest banks such as Bank of America, Wachovia, Sun Trust have already launched mobile services. Many of the top 50 leading banks haven't done that yet. But situation is going to change in 2008. Celent predicts that most of banks will launch some kind of mobile service to make banking applications available through a variety of channels. It also noted that bank online service will become more popular. 10% increase is expected in mobile banking area by the end of next year. Also the number of mobile-banking households will reach 30% in 2010.
