Hyip weekly report: Payment processor scam

May 14, 2008 - 8:27pm | author: fairyjadoo | |

Well, what else would be important news on the hyip world as a whole other than recent Liberty Reserve DDoS. Just I do not understand why people made such a big deal about it. All payment processors or mostly any website involved in dealing with money or currency would have experienced DDoS attack whether they like it or not. This includes hyips, online forex broker, online banking website, and many more. The most important is how they act towards this situation; what they will do in order to overcome the problem, what they will do to prevent it in future, how serious they are to protect and secure users’ money, etc.

Liberty reserve has finally solved the DDoS attack problem on May 5th, but have not  recovered  100% yet as we received the report that there are a lot of missing and incorrect details in the database and the website is not functioning perfectly. According to the latest post on liberty reserve’s official blog on May 7th, liberty reserve is going to upgrade the website 3.0 together with additional features such as friendlier and longer hour customer service. The update as below:

“Dear friends,

Here are some new and exciting updated that are coming up shortly:

- Version 3.0 of our Web Site that will feature additional options for your convenience, streamlined logistics and friendlier interface.

- Phone support is available for compliance department (regarding all issues with verification of exchangers) and direct phone support for exchangers is available now as well. Customer phone support is scheduled to become available later this year and will be available to every registered Liberty Reserve user.

- Live support will be available at least 8 hours per day, every day, which will extend to 24/7 before this year's end.

- Company history, short employee bios and pictures will become available with the next release of Liberty Reserve software (3.0), along with detailed company registration and full compliance information.

- New account types, and new VIP services will become available after July 15th, of this year. Selected qualifying customers will enjoy more personal service with added bonuses and discounts worldwide.

- Also, starting from July or August all exchange providers and merchants, as long as VIP customers are welcome to come by our offices and meet the people that make everything happen, as well as, enjoy the Costa Rica and everything this wonderful country has to offer.

Rest assured that Liberty Reserve will continue to stand out and lead the way with its professionalism, team of highly skilled and responsible employees and will continue to deliver on every expectation you may have. Our commitment to you is to always keep you informed, to provide the most secure, feature rich and private environment to conduct your on-line business affairs, and, most importantly to show the power and effect an electronic currency can have in every day life.

From all of us at Liberty Reserve - best of luck and a special thank you goes to our members, exchangers, merchants and everyone else who stood by our side.”

While people within this hyip world community were worrying about liberty reserve DDoS attack event, they have had forgotten about the real scam payment processor which is e-bullion.

More and more people are being scammed by e-bullion when their accounts have been blocked or disabled without concrete reason. And those who have had their accounts blocked  mostly have big amounts of money sitting in the accounts! One of the common reasons for blocking the account is that the members did not send identity documentation for verification. However, there are some members who have sent the documents but their accounts remain unblocked. And the support given is unclear; such nonsense can't excuse their scam actions.

E-bullion members also complained that the support is becoming worse when they did not reply to email and refuse to answer the phone call properly. If you remember back in year 2007 they were two scams warning about e-bullion given by Global Digital Currencies Association (GDCA).

First warning was in July 2007, when members complained that e-bullion had frozen their accounts without any court order. The details as below:

“Due to numerous unanswered complaints, the Global Digital Currencies Association would like consumers and merchants to be aware that E-bullion.com closes and/or freezes accounts without any court order or reasonable justification, sometimes freezing customer funds forever.

This unscrupulous policy makes E-bullion an unfavorable system for online commerce and for the safe and secure storage and transfer of funds.”

And second warning was in August 2007, stated that e-bullion is also listed with an F rating by the Council of Better Business Bureau, Inc., and unanswered complaints seem to be going back as far as 2005.

E-bullion is a clear scammer. And I also read on digitalmoneyworld blog, the author suspected that e-bullion runs by the same scammer who owned DXinOne; a currency based payment processor.

Even an e-bullion member suspected that the company is now run by a single person as she was the only person who picked up the phone for every number he dialed. The voice on the pre recorded answering machine is also similar to hers.

Ok, enough about payment processor, here is an update about 12DailyPro legal action. Due to continuous threats received by the court appointed receiver; Thomas F Lennon, has decided to shut down the investors web portal which used to be a portal where members can file and monitor their refund claims. However, should any member need to change any data, they can call, email or fax his office. The full details as below:

“Dear 12DP investors,

Due to ongoing security threats, I have shut down the Investor Web Portal. This has been done for security reasons only. The data in the Web Portal and in each of the investor accounts has been secured. Investors do not need to take any action in response to this email. Indeed, telephone calls and emails to my office with questions regarding why the Web Portal is not available will not be returned.

From this point forward, however, you must contact my office by telephone, email or fax with any and all changes to your name, email address or physical address. You will be required to provide your username and password to the Web Portal. My staff will then make the requested changes to your account.

Investors are reminded to keep their Web Portal username and password in a secure location at all times. If you have any questions you may contact the Receiver by e-mail at tfl@tlennonfor12dailypro.com or by facsimile at (619) 465 9288. You may also record your message at (619) 464-6691.

Sincerely,

Thomas F. Lennon Receiver for 12daily Pro”
