Fight fans are in for a treat as the UFC 25th Anniversary press conference will air live today (Aug. 3) at 4:30 p.m. ET.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov have a checkered history that culminated at the UFC 223 media day in NY when the Irishman infamously attacked a bus carrying Nurmagomedov.

"Let's wait to see what the exact sum is that the fighters get, it will be officially announced by the UFC", he added.

"For the fight with McGregor Khabib Nurmagomedov will receive a record sum for a Russian fighter competing in mixed martial arts", he said.

McGregor (21-3) simultaneously held the featherweight and lightweight championship belts during his meteoric UFC career, but he hasn't fought in MMA since taking the 155-pound lightweight belt from Eddie Alvarez in November 2016. After he took a break to attend the birth of his son a year ago, he participated in a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and earned a reported $100 million while losing by 10th-round technical knockout.

"I'd love to fight in Madison Square Garden again, but I believe this one will be in Las Vegas". Also with Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier confirmed for UFC 230, it'll be interesting to see if either fighter is part of the presser. If there was any doubt that he would return to the UFC, that doubt is now gone.

McGregor has been absent from the sport for two years.

"Hey, man. I told Colin I wouldn't ask you for tickets, and he absolutely lost it!"

McGregor and Nurmagomedov will meet in the main event of the UFC 229 pay-per-view show at T-Mobile Arena, the same spot where Mayweather stopped McGregor in the 10th round of their one-sided fight.

"Khabib will be preparing for the fight in the U.S., in San Jose", he added.
