While Paul Pogba's Manchester United future will need to be resolved amid interest from Barcelona, the dealings are going on at Chelsea with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois set for Real Madrid and Kepa Arrizabalaga arriving from Athletic Bilbao.

Targett enjoyed a successful spell at Fulham last season, helping them win promotion to the Premier League with a number of impressive displays at left-back.

Reports suggest United are keeping tabs on the likes of Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld, Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembele Leicester defender Harry Maguire and Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but time is running out as the Premier League transfer window slams shut tomorrow.

But while City begin the campaign as firm favourites after their record-breaking title campaign last season, they will be well aware of the threat posed by Juergen Klopp's improving Liverpool and the rest of the big six.

Manchester City will attempt to become the first team to defend their title since the Red Devils achieved the feat in 2009.

The action-packed autumn Premier League period is complemented by BT Sport's exclusive live coverage of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. But the decision has been made and we'll analyse it in September when it's all over.

He said: "Before saying anything or doing anything, you want to observe and see if you see the same mistakes which we've done previously".

"That, they thought, transcended all the other challenges".
