Million Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro Revealed

Celebrating over 500 million PlayStation system sales.

Sony has announced that it has sold more than 525 million PlayStation consoles worldwide since 1994. The PS4 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 controller release date is August 24 and the headset release date is October 11. Some lucky buyers will also get their consoles engraved with special serial numbers that commemorate important events of PlayStation, said Sony.

Although it's a normal PS4 Pro in most respects it's the first one ever to come with a 2TB hard drive as standard and has a unique dark blue translucent casing and gold lettering. The limited edition system will be available on retailer websites for $499.99 on August 24, 2018, and only 50,000 total will be sold worldwide!

There'll also be a commemorative Gold Wireless Headset 500 Million Limited Edition, which features the same "dark blue translucent design with copper detailing". Examples include 09995 (Sept. 9th, 1995, US PlayStation launch), 01115 (Nov. 15, 2013, US PS4 launch) and 01013 (Oct. 13, 2016, US PS VR launch). We'll see the console launch at retailers around the United States on August 24, while the controller and headset will follow in early September.

In the United Kingdom you'll be able to pre-order the limited-edition console, gold headset, and wireless control online from 10am on August 14 at Amazon, Game, Smyths Toys, ShopTo, Currys PC World and Very. The limited edition DualShock 4 controller will be available to purchase separately on the same day.
