Manchester United Set To Complete Toby Alderweireld Signing In Next 48 Hours

Manchester United have been searching desperately for a defender.

Jose Mourinho made a decision to bring in another goalkeeper, Lee Grant, to allow Dean Henderson and Joel Pereira to go on loan to gain experience. It seems now the Red Devils are all set to finally sign Tottenham Hotspur star Alderweireld.

Officials at Manchester United aren't ready to splash the cash mindlessly and have had a reserved stance on transfer this summer.

Everton makes bid for Marcos Rojo: After purchasing Richarlison and Lucas Digne, the Toffees keep making moves and make a reported bid for Manchester United's Marcos Rojo.

Despite his contract situation, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was still determined to get top dollar for the 29-year-old and has reportedly been demanding £75m for Alderweireld's signature - a price United have refused to meet.

The Red Devils refused to match the valuation as they believed the player could cost as low as £25 million next summer.

Manchester United are reportedly set to complete their fourth signing of the summer, with Belgian worldwide Toby Alderweireld closing in on a move.

Toby Alderweireld is a world class defender and he has shown his worth time and time again with the Spurs and a great performance in the World Cup.

However, the Mirror claim there has been a breakthrough in negotiations with Tottenham and Man Utd are now expected to wrap-up a £60m deal to sign Alderweireld over the next 48 hours.

Alderweireld went to the 2018 World Cup with Belgium and started all but one game as the Red Devils finished third in Russian Federation.

Manchester United have been linked with a whole host of players in the last few weeks as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
