Chelsea's Willian: Barcelona made bid but future is with Maurizio Sarri

The 18-year-old started and impressed during City's 2-0 win over Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon.

Three weeks after the World Cup finished, the Premier League champions opened the new season by collecting more silverware.

Manchester City celebrate winning the community shield with the trophy.

Aguero struck his first after 13 minutes when Phil Foden, filling in admirably for Kevin De Bruyne, burst forward to find the Argentine, who wrong-footed defender Antonio Rudiger with a low shot to become the first City player to reach 200 goals.

"The performance of Bernardo Silva was a masterpiece", the City boss said.

After 10 appearances for City last season, when he also inspired England's Under-17 World Cup triumph, Foden could be on the brink of a breakthrough campaign.

Where City were quick and incisive, Chelsea looked disjointed, with the Brazilian-born former Napoli midfielder a bag of nerves in front of a new four-man defence.

Picking up where they left off in their record-breaking campaign last term, Pep Guardiola's team took an early lead through Aguero, who rewarded City's dominance with a second goal after the break.

While Guardiola was all smiles, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri admitted the team's hectic pre-season schedule has left his players unable to adapt to his tactics. He played a few games last season, and now he is more mature.

"So, I think it's a long way we have to work. Our pre-season until now has been a bit insane I think and so we have to work".

"We have the idea to be in control of the match but today we were not in control of the match".

In the absence of Eden Hazard, still resting after the World Cup, Chelsea unveiled a precocious talent on their own in Callum Hudson-Odoi.

It is still possible for players to transfer out of Premier League clubs to other leagues, for instance Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois could be sold to Real Madrid after the August 9th deadline, but Chelsea will need to recruit their replacement before then. "It's not very easy".

"We made it clear from the day I arrived we want him, but deals are deals, agents are agents and players are players".
