'Bachelorette' and new fiance address Instagram controversy

Horstmann said that he was terrified to lose Kufrin, but was really excited, at the same time.

Garrett Yrigoyen, the newly-crowned victor of The Bachelorette, said Monday that he "didn't mean to offend anyone" after it was discovered shortly after the show's premiere this summer that the he had previously liked a series of highly inflammatory Instagram posts.

Yrigoyen received a wave of backlash in May after posts he "liked" on Instagram resurfaced, including some memes that mocked immigrants and transgender people.

This became quite the controversy online, and almost overshadowed the actual show. He responded quickly by deleting the account and apologizing, describing the likes as "mindless taps". Many correctly assumed this reaction meant that Garrett would win, as it's rare for contestants to address off-screen drama while the season is airing. When asked on the live finale episode if he was still in love with Kufrin, Horstmann said that he will always have love for her.

Still alive, though, Becca shows up for dinner in a silk nightgown that's been chopped in half - the latest in a long line of double-u-tee-eff fashion decisions by our leading lady (the women in my watching party group will back me up on this).

Garrett issues an apology for liking a bunch of bigoted Instagram posts. "I didn't mean to offend anybody, I apologize for that still", Yrigoyen said during an appearance on ABC's "After the Final Rose" show on Monday night. But she thought there was "just a better fit for us out there". "I want Becca to know the truth about Garrett".

Kufrin said she doesn't condone the "Instagram situation". Becca says about herself, with Garrett, "I can be all of Becca". "I've been waiting for this day and this moment for quite some time now. Will you let me spend the rest of my life making you smile?" "But I just want to move forward and to learn and to grow and to continue to educate ourselves". The resemblance left many unsettled and seemed to take the shine off what was otherwise an uplifting finale (though not a surprising one, as Garrett was pegged as the frontrunner for months). They also revealed the little habits they've learned about each other since filming ended, Garrett shares his thoughts behind the proposal, and Becca shows off her unbelievable Neil Lane three-stone diamond engagement ring all in the video interview above! Garrett admitted it crossed his mind. Emily told Kufrin that Horstmann would challenge her and make a good teammate.

Kufrin added, "There have been struggles, and that was a major thing we had to talk about early on at the very beginning of our relationship".

"She's helping me through everything", he said. "There's countless amount of people reaching out to my family and friends and trying to get to the bottom of who I was as a person and attacking my character".

With that said, Reality Steve reported, before the beginning of the season, that, though there were rumors Horstmann was the victor, Kufrin picks Yrigoyen. "I had two weeks off from work just to focus on my body and myself".

As they continued to discuss the incident, the specific content of Garrett's Instagram activity never came up.

"He went through the entire season being open and transparent", Becca concluded.
