Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle to attend Serena Williams-Kerber match

Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle to attend Serena Williams-Kerber match

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have stepped out together at Wimbledon.

But before they could take their seats, the pair met with ball boys and girls, wheelchair competitors and junior players ahead of the day's play.

The pair sat side by side and appeared to be in good spirits as they animatedly watched Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal duke it out in the heated men's single final.

Meghan, who watched as close friend Serena Williams competes for an eighth Wimbledon title, wore a blue and white button-up shirt by Ralph Lauren tucked into sleek, summery white trousers.

Although the Saturday match will mark Middleton's first time attending a tournament this year, as she has taken a step back from royal duties to care for son Prince Louis, and the Duchesses first solo appearance together, Middleton and Markle have made a number of royal appearances together alongside their husbands. Markle, 36, sported a blue-and-white striped shirt by Ralph Lauren, which she paired with cream wide-leg trousers.

Both Meghan and Kate have attended Wimbledon in the past, and their joy at watching the match can't be denied when looking at the photos from the day!

Despite support from both Duchesses, Serena failed to win her eighth Wimbledon title, with Angelique Kerber taking a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

The Duchess is a Wimbledon patron and a huge tennis fan.

This year F1 ace Lewis Hamilton, golfer Tiger Woods and Dame Anna Wintour offered their support from behind her team.

"To all the moms out there, I was playing for you today and I tried", she added with emotion in her voice.

Williams has previously said that she was delighted the duchess would be coming to watch her play.

How does Meghan Markle know Serena Williams?

Her voice breaking after the match, which lasted one hour and five minutes, Williams said: "It's been an awesome tournament for me, I was really happy to get this far".
