George Clooney Has Motorcycle Accident Scare In Sardinia

George Clooney has been rushed to hospital after his scooter collided with a vehicle in Sardinia, local media report.

John Paul II hospital, in Olbia, Sardinia confirmed that George Clooney had been admitted.

Amal Clooney reportedly rushed to his side while he was at the hospital. He was on his way to work when the accident happened, reports in the local media cited by Sky News say.

He officially married Amal in Venice in September 2014, a few days after a lavish party in Lake Como.

Clooney collided with the Mercedes when it cut across his path at an intersection at around 8:15 a.m., Carabinieri Lt. Alberto Cicognani told the outlet.

Clooney was reportedly on his way to the set of a TV series he's directing based on the Joseph Heller classic "Catch-22". Recent reports had stated that the two have been joined by the actor's parents as well. Clooney, 57, is serving as director and executive producer on the project, and also plays the role of Scheisskopf.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney is now recovering at his home following the accident.

Clooney is now filming TV drama Catch-22 on the Italian island.

Fans were quick to express their relief that the dad-of-two was doing well after the accident, with one tweeting: "I saw George Clooney trending and nearly had a heart attack".

He has been living there for the summer in order to work on the series Catch 22.
