WONDER WOMAN 1984 - Steve Trevor Returns

WONDER WOMAN 1984 - Steve Trevor Returns

As you may or may not know, the sequel to the highly successful Wonder Woman film is now shooting, with both the title and the setting indicated as "Wonder Woman 1984". Gal Gadot obviously reprises her titular role, and Pedro Pascal also co-stars in the film. Trevor was Wonder Woman's love interest and a military spy during World War I in the first movie. Yes, against all odds, Steve Trevor lives, though writer-director Patty Jenkins is yet to offer an explanation for his surprise return and, frankly, that's okay, as the filmmaker is likely fighting to keep spoilers at bay. Pictures and DC's hit "Wonder Woman", will be filmed for several weeks in the Alexandria.

And the first pictures have been shared by director Jenkins, with one showing Steve alive and well. "Wonder Woman" won near-unanimous acclaim from critics and fans alike, and earned more than $800 million worldwide. Pine will return as Steve Trevor, despite apparently dying in the original.

While the filming is taking place in town, Wisconsin Avenue will be closed from 3:30 p.m. Wednesday from M Street - F Street NW, and on Thursday from 9 a.m.to 8 p.m. from M Street to P Street NW.

But now Wonder Woman's second outing, another Justice League prequel, is set in 1984. Wonder Woman 2 may be going for a more political commentary this time around, which could be an interesting take on the film, considering current events.

Wonder Woman 1984 is the official title for the sequel and it comes with some pretty serious historical baggage that is just as true today as it was back when George Orwell wrote his book.

The first film sees the title character, a.k.a. Diana, train as an Amazon warrior on the Mediterranean island of Themyscira during her early years.
