Why Melania Trump's jacket has sparked outrage

First Lady Melania Trump drew the attention of national media on June 21 with a message on a jacket she wore on a trip to visit illegal alien children held at facilities near the southern border.

In a baffling decision, the first lady wore a jacket that says "I don't really care, do u?" on the back for part of her journey.

As she left the detention center, the White House pool reporter caught Trump wishing the detained children, "Good luck".

US President Donald Trump has backed First Lady Melania Trump who was recently criticised by world media for wearing a jacket with a "message" on its back. "After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to focus on her wardrobe". On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order ending the separations and keeping families together while in custody.

"She wanted to see as close to what she had been seeing on TV", Grisham said. Given that, her choice to wear the $39 Zara jacket as she headed on her unexpected trip to the border raised eyebrows.

When Trump arrived at Joint Base Andrews Thursday morning to travel to Texas, wearing the "I-really-don't-care" jacket with its message emblazoned in white paint, it was first noticed by the Daily Mail.

So far, the Trump administration has reportedly separated more than 2,000 children since early May. She put the jacket back on as she disembarked from her plane back at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington.

"Ma'am, I know how you can help", Colbert responded. At the G7 summit past year, she wore a floral coat worth $51,000.

Melania Trump regularly makes statements with her clothing, and on Thursday she sent a vile message to the country - whether intentionally or not. When she got off the plane in Texas, she was no longer wearing the jacket.

'Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!,' said the U.S. president as he took to his traditional mode of communication - Twitter.

The New Hope Children's Facility is run by Upbring, a non-profit organization that facilitates foster care and adoptions, and runs shelters for children.
