'Well' Melania Trump makes first public appearance in a month

And the timing of Mrs. Trump's departure from the public eye was abrupt and baffling: It came as she was ramping up her public appearances and in the midst of launching her official platform, Be Best, which will focus on children's issues.

The First Lady tweeted her own assurance that she was doing well last week.

For the past several weeks, rumors have swirled around the first lady's whereabouts after she underwent a kidney operation. The first lady has previously traveled with her husband to hurricane zones.

Scarborough shot back at Trump for his comments about a possible Melania "facelift" on Wednesday, tweeting, "I agree that it would be "vicious" and "unfair" to lie about a loved one having a facelift for the objective of causing pain and embarrassment".

Trump tweeted that during Melania's recovery from a medical procedure: "They reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the WH (and me) for NY or Virginia, to abuse".

The president added, "Four reporters spotted Melania in the White House last week walking merrily along to a meeting". Fake News is really bad!

After rescinding the Eagles' White House invite on Monday, Trump promised to replace the team's celebration with a "different type of ceremony" and that's exactly what happened on the South Lawn of the White House on Tuesday.

Mr. Trump issued a statement Monday evening saying the full National Football League team would not be coming to the White House Tuesday after several players indicated they wouldn't participate.

Trump also paired the text of the tweets with video of himself and the first lady on his Facebook page.

The First Lady also joined the president for a reception with Gold Star families at the White House, but that event was closed to the press. A CNN segment even claimed she was "missing". Kelly Nantel, vice president of communications and advocacy, said she's unaware of any events being planned by the White House.

Brooke Singman is a Politics Reporter for Fox News. "She's confident in what she is doing and in her role, and knows the rest is just speculation and nonsense".

Her husband was less charitable on Wednesday.
