Trump distances himself from Cohen as raided docs are analyzed

He has not been charged.

President Trump's attorney Michael Cohen's seen about 120 too many TV appearances by Stormy Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti.so he's begging a judge to make him stop talking. "There are approximately 731 pages of messages, including call logs, which were also produced today". WhatsApp and Signal store their messages in encrypted databases on the device, so an initial dump of the phone would have only provided a cryptographic blob. The government has been able to recover data from one of Cohen's two BlackBerries that were seized, but federal authorities have been unable to extract data from the other one. The government is still unable to obtain data from the second BlackBerry. The review is overseen by former federal judge Barbara Jones.

Prosecutors are investigating Cohen for possible crimes related to his business dealings, a source familiar with the investigation told Reuters in April.

Cohen's associates say that in recent days he has become increasingly irritated by statements made in the media by the president's lawyer in the Russian Federation investigation, Rudy Giuliani.

Michael Avenatti, who represents Daniels in separate civil litigation against Cohen and Trump, on Friday tweeted that the encrypted messages and reconstructed documents "could pose a huge problem for Mr. Cohen and ultimately Mr. Trump".

At the time, prosecutors had not yet provided Cohen's lawyers with the reconstructed shredded documents or the encrypted messages.

"I'm not anxious because I did nothing wrong, nothing wrong", Trump said.

Right now, the documents obtained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the raids are the focus of Cohen's case.

A judge had set Friday as a deadline for Cohen's lawyers to identify documents they believe are protected by attorney-client privilege. The material has been handed over to a special master appointed by the court. Last week, Jones reported that she had reviewed the first 300,000 documents and determined that just 162 were privileged.

Judge Wood, late Friday, indicated that she was considering the proposal for the June 25 deadline, but she has not yet issued a ruling. That team would be walled off from those who might prosecute Cohen.

"For over 12 yrs, Mr. Cohen and his boss Mr. Trump have routinely tried to "shut people up" and hide the truth through intimidation & threats".

Through White House officials, Trump has denied the affair, although Cohen has admitted paying Daniels $130,000 as part of the agreement.

Daniels has said she had sex with Trump in 2006 when he was married. "And I think he's a good person", he said. I did nothing wrong.
