The most exciting games from Square Enix's E3 showcase

Kingdom Hearts 3 has been one of the biggest games at E3 this year, with Square Enix finally announcing a release date for the much-awaited next major installment in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

While Square Enix's showcase was ultimately disappointing, it's all their own doing. We got a small look at the beautifully rendered, ridiculously named Octopath Traveler for Switch next month.

The new trailer shows off some exciting new abilities and story elements for the game.

There was very little information on it, other than the implication that it has a pretty complex backstory and what seems to be a tone more similar to Dark Souls than Bayonetta. Square are promising "more to come" in August which suggests we'll have to keep guessing until then.

Beginning the conference on a high note a new trailer was shown for Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Just Cause 4 received the EDM treatment in a trailer that showcased its violently volatile world and weather, as well as a few snippets of gameplay. Square Enix's conference, meanwhile, was supposed to show the publisher back to their best, but instead it showed them at their most complacent.

A new trailer for "Dragon Quest XI" showcases the hero's journey in the upcoming RPG and shows off the gorgeous animations in the game. The dialogue was pretty terrible though and it wasn't made any better by the British-accented voiceovers.

The world's of Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter: World are coming together under one roof this summer in what appears to be a collaboration that pits Final Fantasy characters against beasts from Monster Hunter.

Are you looking forward to Just Cause 4?
