The feature in turn automatically organizes files into separate groups. Presided over by CEO Tim Cook, the San Jose event saw the rollout of a number of new tech-based features for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

Apple kicked off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday by sharing some new details about its latest mobile software, iOS 12.

Apple also added a new app Measure that can "quickly gauge the size of real-world objects similar to a tape measure".

Most parents share their iPad with their child and any time limits you set will be for that device.

However, you won't see the official release of these features until the Autumn, when Apple will make iOS 12, macOS Mojave, watchOS 5 and tvOS 12 available to download via your devices.

Apple today announced new tools built into iOS 12 to help customers understand and take control of the time they spend interacting with their iOS devices.

Craig Federighi reveals Apple's plan to get people to use their phone less often. The latest new update brings screen time, Group FaceTime, Memoji, Grouped Notification and many newer features.

We already knew that macOS 10.14 Mojave would come with a new night mode, and it also looks like you can choose your own color accent from the System Preferences screen.

This will then enable your device to download iOS 12 on your iPhone, just as you would normally download a software update.

The "Play Media" intent boasts full HomePod support as well but you still have to set it up through the Shortcuts app on your iPhone before querying Siri on HomePod directly. FaceTime will soon allow users to support video chats with as many as 32 people. For some Apple News readers like me, who get the majority of their news from the app, there is even less incentive for me to visit each publisher's website.

Instagram lets you track how much time you waste on its app, but Apple also showed that it wasn't far behind, announcing yesterday that the iOS 12 update coming this fall will include "App Limits" that helps restrict the amount of usage, according to your settings.
