Gregg Popovich reportedly met with Kawhi Leonard

Some contender may take a shot on a one-year rental for Leonard - similar to what the Oklahoma City Thunder did with Paul George - but they won't give up much in return. Much like some Spurs fans, the zoo hilariously reacted to the rumors on social media by sharing it will be canceling Kawhi's membership. While George is a perennial All-Star and likely a top-15 player, Leonard is on a different level. Leonard played in only nine games this season, scoring 16.2 points a night, well below his average of 25.5 in 2016-17. Popovich even suggested that Leonard might be better than LeBron James a year ago. Leonard will reportedly alert teams interested in trading for him that his preference is to sign with the Lakers when he's eligible to become a free agent in 2019.

The two had a "good" conversation and "more dialogue" is expected, Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

The VIP gift comes just five days after reports of superstar Leonard wants to leave the Spurs and to be traded.

LaMarcus Aldridge asked to be traded last summer when he was unhappy with the Spurs.

Some of those suitors know they don't have enough: The Cavs peddling Kevin Love and the No. 8 pick, the Grizzlies with No. 4 and Chandler Parsons, the Clippers with Tobias Harris and Nos. He doesn't complain about a darn thing. ESPN reports Popovich has tried to set up a meeting for weeks.

The situation with Leonard isn't exactly the same, considering the bad blood that seems to have developed between Leonard and some members of the organization.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, Popovich has simply flown to LA to meet with Leonard.
