Command & Conquer: Rivals Announced For Smartphones

Command & Conquer Rivals takes the series onto mobile platforms.

Command & Conquer: Rivals should be finished later this year. The series has been absent for a long time and there is no doubt that a major game would have been more welcome, but for now, a mobile game will have to do, right? The game's official reveal trailer has been downvoted about 29,000 times on YouTube at the time of writing, and the gameplay trailer is also not doing well with 11,000 downvotes.

There is no Command & Conquer: Rivals release date yet, but fans are already judging the game.

EA took everyone by surprise when it unveiled Command & Conquer: Rivals for smartphones at its Play conference at E3 2018. Following the announcement, the free-to-play game was released into pre-alpha, and can be downloaded now.

The latter is what Bethesda's Todd Howard jokingly refers to as "meeting mode", where you can secretly play the game with just one hand while in a meeting.

According to EA, the two goals of the pre-alpha are to test combat balance and matchmaking. We can't wait to hear what they think and will use our players' feedback to make Rivals better. You can also choose commanders from your deck for different powers, such as dropping a turret into enemy territory. "We, the development team, are committed to delivering a fun, fair, and competitive experience for all players".

Unfortunately, Command & Conquer: Rivals is not off to a great start. Feel free to let us know in the comments section below and don't forget to stay tuned for more E3 2018.
