What time does Tiger Woods tee off at The Players on Sunday?

Tiger Woods provided more evidence he is ready to return to the winner's circle with his stirring weekend at the Players Championship.

Tiger Woods made the cut on the number Friday evening, and a third-round 65 still left him 11 strokes off the pace. "It was nice. I had control of it from tee to green".

He steadily climbed the leaderboard with birdies at the second, third, fourth and ninth holes. Yet Simpson steadied himself immediately, producing key birdies at the 12th and 16th. After his best drive of the day - a fairway-splitting 354-yarder - he spun his sand wedge back off the green, then missed from 7 feet for par.

His game looks as good as it ever has, he performed under all the pressure which was thrown at him and a lot more people will now agree with me that the 42-year-old can win at least another Major. "Had a chance this weekend, unfortunately I just didn't cash in". "Just didn't go in".

For 13 holes at least, Woods was on the march once more, following up his wonderful 65 on Saturday with another spellbinding exhibition. On his final hole he hit a shot in the water but at that point, it didn't matter.

Woods' brilliant 65 on Saturday was a flawless example of where his game is right now. Jordan Spieth (74) quadruple bogeyed the 18th and tumbled to T-41.

"I think I messed him up", Spieth said. I had to draw it from the water. "It could be incredibly close", said former Open champion David Duval. Woods is now No. 80 in the world. Heading in to the final day with a seven-shot cushion, Simpson's one-over 73 saw him complete a dominant victory at TPC Sawgrass over his nearest challengers. Only Adam Scott (T8, 2005) posted a top-10 finish in defending this century.

Woods stalled later in the round dropping three shots. He will move from 53rd to 48th in the FedEx Cup standings.

Americans now hold all four major championship titles, as well as the unofficial fifth major, The Players. 'And one of my goals is to get into Akron [the name of the course used at Bridgestone] one last time before we leave there. It is moving to Memphis, Tennessee, after this year.

"Once I got to 17 and the ball was on the green", he said, "internally I was celebrating". "But I got to do some work between now and then, hopefully put together one good event". He needs to be in the top 50 in the world by July 23 or July 30 to qualify for the event. None could do enough to catch Simpson during record scoring at the final Players Championship in May. I thought I missed the cut by one.

I was concerned about whether I would ever see Tiger Woods win another tournament again, but right now in my mind there's no doubt that he will win tournaments.

Woods will take two weeks off before playing the Memorial Tournament, which potentially could be his final tuneup before the U.S. Open in June. "There wouldn't be too many people wanting to come down the stretch against Tiger Woods". And he has some confidence.

"But to be honest with you guys, I've never putted this well in my life, and I think if I had stayed with the belly putter, I think I maybe averaged 35th to 60th every year in putting, so very average. I hit probably three of the best long irons I've hit all week".

He added: "Today, I was pretty far back".
