Pizza Hut expanding beer deliveries in LA

Now your wish is Pizza Hut's command if you live in certain parts of California and Arizona.

The company behind delivery giant Pizza Hut announced this week it was expanding a pilot program that previous year began delivering beer along with the pizza in Phoenix, Arizona.

Delivery drivers will check customer IDs to ensure no one purchasing beer is underage. In California, beer delivery is now available at participating restaurants in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Clara, among others; and rolling out soon to additional locations, including Anaheim, Fresno, Huntington Beach and Redding this month.

In a previous interview with Nation's Restaurant News, Pizza Hut said it intends to expand the beer delivery program quickly in 2018. We put in a call to find out when, and we'll update this post when we find out.

"Offering beer delivery has enabled us to provide a service to our customers that others can not", Mark Peterson, a Pizza Hut franchise owner in Arizona said. But about that beer.... Six beer options are available: Budweiser, Bud Light, Blue Moon, Coors Light, Miller High Life and Shock Top.

The company previously said it is also considering adding wine delivery, but did not provide additional details on that rollout. "In addition to our extensive delivery network, many Pizza Hut restaurants are already licensed to serve and distribute beer, without third-party services, additional fees, or extended wait times".

But not everyone is impressed.

Pizza Hut did not immediately return requests for comment about which locations would carry beer.
