New Maruti Swift, Baleno recalled - Check here if your vehicle is affected

As a part of the service campaign, the Indo-Japanese vehicle maker is recalling around collective 52,686 units of Baleno and Swift for inspecting any possible issue related to brake vacuum hose as listed on its Nexa website.

The cars manufactured between 1st December 2017 and 16th March 2018 will be scanned and monitored for the fault in brake hose. Corporate fleet and taxi owners can contact their nearest Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshops to avail complimentary vehicle health check and other service related offers. Maruti Suzuki will conduct the inspection and replacement free of cost. Maruti Suzuki has said that 52,686 units have been affected due to fault in the brake vacuum hose. The brake vacuum hose is a part of brake booster system which increases the brake force and stops the vehicle in a short distance.

Maruti Suzuki India today announced a nationwide service camp for corporate fleet and taxi owners. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also on the vehicle invoice and registration documents. The recall could hurt the company's performance in the hatchback segment as they have the new Elite i20 and Ford Freestyle to compete with, he added.

Maruti Suzuki is organising the camp in consideration of the fact that the fleet cars are under heavy wear and tear due to high running time.

According to the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile manufacturers) has a voluntary recall policy that ensures that manufacturers voluntarily rectify the problem free of cost to the customer, in the event a manufacturing defect that compromises safety of vehicles is found.
