JUST IN! Lionel Messi speaks with Neymar over transfer to Real Madrid

It's believed that Neymar regrets his world-record move to France last summer and doesn't like the style of play Ligue 1 advocates. Neymar's returning form might be a World cup winning factor for the Brazilian team.

The Argentina captain told TyC Sports channel programme "Libero" (via Sport): "It would be bad [if Neymar moved to Madrid] because of everything he means to Barcelona".

"If Neymar doesn't leave PSG he will never win anything important", the 46-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Messi is hoping the move does not come to fruition after admitting it would be a huge blow for the club with whom Neymar won both the Champions League and the La Liga.

"If he ends up at Real Madrid it would be a major blow to us".

"This injury is hard, and the biggest challenge is right now, going to the World Cup after not playing for three months", the 26-year-old Paris St Germain forward said on a sponsor's social media channel.

Messi also admitted signing Neymar "make Real Madrid even stronger from a football point of view", before adding of the rumours, "I speak with him, so he already knows what I think".

Messi said that Brazil is most likely to win the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation because they have really good players, a very steadfast defence and strikers who "kill you".

"Now, my goals is to do the World Cup, not to talk about transfer or not, I spend my whole life, every transfer window, we talk about it, it's a bit annoying".

Messi and Neymar were teammates for four years in Catalonia, so it's no surprise that the Argentine doesn't want the move to happen. "It's what we all want".
