Chairmanship Aspirant Killed At Delta APC Ward Congress

The embattled senator representing Delta central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Mr. Ovie Omo-Agege, on Saturday shunned the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses held across the state Also absent from the ward congress was the former 2015 Labour Party governorship candidate who is now a member of APC, Great Ogboru‎.

He said, " It is surprising that they could be passing on lies that some aspirants did not pay for nomination and that there were fake nomination forms in circulation.

In Edo the APC described the event across the state as "participatory democracy at play".

On the uproar over the choice of centers for the conduct of the congress, Emerhor explained that competing interest in the party were giving conflicting directive, but the party election guideline stated that the congress committee should decide the venue, and the first option is party secretariat at the Ward, unless where it's not conducive, stakeholders will agree on venue.

Imo state has been reported to be experiencing some chaos over alleged hijack of Congress committee members.

This was however not able to stop members of the party engaging in violent protest.

"The report of his death indicate that Mr. Jeremiah Oghoveta met his untimely demise as a result of circumstances that were allegedly caused by the perpetratiom of electoral fraud and malpractice during the APC Ward Congress in his Local Government Area".

A NAN correspondent, who also visited the Ward 4 Ibadan North Local Government Council congress holding at CAC School, Oje-Igosun, reports that the exercise was going on peacefully.

He said, "We can not allow ourselves to be in rancour and have problems after the congresses, we hope that the results of the congresses will go smoothly with all of us" adding that all the aspirants have reached a united stance for the sake of the success of the party in the state.

Yusuf said there might be grievances from some people, but noted that the congress was welcomed by majority of party members.

The Chairman of the Makama Ward, Lafia, Malam Ahmed Ibrahim-Arari, assured that the exercise would commnce when the rains subsided. Before you came, many delegates were here but had left because of the rain. He has a degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering.
