Carrie Underwood's First TV Interview About Gruesome 'Freak Accident'

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, the country music star spoke with Hoda Kotb on the Today show.

Kotb told the Before He Cheats singer that she thought she looks "the same". But she joked, "I have a dedicated team of professionals who can spackle and paint and paste".

Aside from revealing she's feeling "a little more back to normal" every day, Carrie shares another project she's been working on with Kotb, her latest line of athletic wear for Calia.

Carrie Underwood has a scar on her face from falling in front of her house last November, but you wouldn't know it from looking at her now! "It just wasn't pretty", she said.

Not exclusively did she return to the stage on the ACM awards, over the previous month, the American Idol alum confirmed her power by debuting new music and singing the nationwide anthem forward of husband Mike Fisher's hockey sport.

That very same month, the six-time Grammy victor gave particulars of the accident for the primary time, explaining that the autumn occurred when she went to take her canine out for a fast stroll at evening.

"When you're singing something that is straight from your heart, it's easy to just be in the moment and be connected to it", Carrie told Hoda this week, per E! I never realized how much it translates until after the ACM Awards.

Over the past few months, Underwood has been slowly sharing more photos and videos of herself, and many people - including Kotb - have said that Underwood's facial injury isn't noticeable. "People are telling me places that they cry". "I just fell. I just tripped taking my dogs out to do their business". I chipped my tooth but it was just my skin, thank the Lord. Known to be a flawless performer, even Underwood admits that night blew her away.

She later told fans about the full extent of her injuries in a blog post on her Fan Club website.

The 35-year-old, who previously acknowledged she was anxious about her appearance after the accident, still doesn't feel like she is back to her old self, but she is grateful for those who work hard to make her look and feel as normal as possible.

She admitted, "I didn't know how things were gonna end up. I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse", she continued.

After getting surgery, Underwood didn't know how the recovery process would go, and she warned fans that she might not look the same.

"I believed I simply busted my lip", she later advised Storme Warren on SiriusXM's The Freeway.
