Bale scores twice as Real Madrid hammers Celta Vigo

Real Madrid forward, Gareth Bale scored twice to help his side thrash Celta Vigo in La Liga at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Gareth Bale and Isco both pressed their cases for starting places against Liverpool in Kiev on May 26.

Celta thought that they had levelled the scores when Jozabed Sanchez tapped home from inside the box three minutes later but the goal was ruled out for offside. It will be hard to pick the team for the final, but I prefer it like that. He is playing very well, not just his goals, that he is going well in everything.

Bale has often incurred the wrath of Madridistas, especially when his impact has been affected by injuries.

And he received a warm ovation from the supporters when he was substituted after 71 minutes, his double taking his league tally for the season to 15.

"It's better like this, to have everyone firing on all cylinders", added Zidane.

"What [Bale] did today was very good, I am very happy for him, for his goals".

Keylor Navas reacted sharply to keep out Wass' 40th-minute header, by which point Madrid was already in cruise control. Navas made some important saves at 0-0 and earned praise from his French manager.

Spanish worldwide Isco made it three with an audacious curler two minutes later to give Los Blancos a comfortable cushion heading into half-time. It gives us hope when Keylor can do this kind of thing. Achraf, the 19-year-old defender, fired in the fourth, with a Sergi Gomez own goal making it five.

The rout, in Real's final home game of the season, means they can still catch Atletico Madrid into second place on the final weekend.

Atletico kept their advantage by winning 1-0 at Getafe, but Diego Simeone's side know they cannot afford to falter at home to Eibar next weekend.
