Apocalyptic shooter 'Stalker 2' is back in development

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was initially confirmed back in 2010, and we've heard little since and many have doubted that the title will ever see the light of day. While many will be excited by the prospect of Stalker 2, it'll be a long time before we get to play it. The bad news is that it's not going to happen anytime soon: The Stalker 2 site now indicates that it'll be out in 2021. The point here is that GSC seemingly no longer employees numerous same people who worked on the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise and that Sergiy Grygorovych has made claims regarding his intentions to develop a sequel to the series before that amounted to nothing.

On its homepage, GSC Game World also says that the "eagerly anticipated comeback" is actively in development right now.

The open-world Stalker games are set in the area surrounding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, where odd changes are taking place following a second explosion. Even if you're not a PC gamer, chances are you've at least heard of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at some point. It was released worldwide with GSC World Publishing in charge of publishing the title in former USSR territories and THQ Inc. operated the worldwide release.

In the former USSR states alone, the game sold over half a million copies in the first two weeks.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, like many characters in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Cossacks 3, released in September 2016, put furious battles of XVII-XVIII centuries into 3D. FYI, Misery is a full concept modification of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
