President Trump reportedly tried to block Vice President Pence's national security adviser pick because he previously worked on anti-Trump ads for a conservative group.

The meeting between Pence and Trudeau was largely overshadowed by those strikes, as the two condemned the Syrian government's alleged use of chemical weapons on April 7 that killed at least 40 people and injured hundreds more.

"The objective of the mission the commander in chief gave our military forces and our allies was completely accomplished - with swift professionalism", Pence told reporters, noting there were "no reported civilian casualties".

US negotiators discussing changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement also recently floated the idea that 40 percent of automotive production must occur in areas paying wages of between $16 to $19 per hour.

VP Pence called the USA led airstrikes on Syria a success.

Pence's team finally got wind of the controversy and after his plane landed, the vice president called Trump to plead Lerner's case. Pence watched Trump's speech from his hotel suite, joined by aides.

"The U.S. put on the table 75 percent instead of 85 percent for the regional content value of the vehicle and its core components", AMIA president Eduardo Solis said in a statement.

In meeting after meeting, Pence offered a low-key, extended hand.

This funding is in addition to the $2.5 million for emergency food and health assistance the United States provided last month and the more than $3 million we provided to UNHCR that assisted Venezuelans in FY 2017.
