Team Nigeria win 2 bronze medals at Commonwealth Games

Following the conclusion of events on Friday, Team Nigeria are now on eight gold, five silver and five bronze medals.

The duo of Manika Batra and Mouma Das added to the medal tally as they picked up a silver after they were defeated in the final of the women's table tennis doubles by the duo of Tianwei Feng and Mengyu Yu from Singapore.

Indian shooter Anish Bhanwala, aged 15, today created history by becoming the country's youngest ever gold medal victor in the Commonwealth Games.

Galadima clocked 11.04 seconds to claim first position at the Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast, Australia.

In fact, such was his dominance that Bajrang won all his bouts today on Technical Superiority as none of his rivals could pose a threat to him.

By winning the gold, Anish bettered team-mate Manu Bhaker, who had become the youngest Indian Commonwealth Games gold medallist earlier this week when she emerged champion in the 10m air rifle finals.

Anish, aged 15, created history by becoming the country's youngest ever gold medal victor in the Commonwealth Games. These included three gold medals - two in shooting and one in wrestling.

Anish scored 30 points in the finals to finish two points ahead of Australia's Sergei Evglevski. India will now play for the bronze medal match.
