Eventually, Arenado caught up to the backpedaling Perdomo and unleashed a right hook. The big-hitting Arenado then threw a couple of huge punches at the backpedaling Perdomo, but didn't land anything squarely. He doesn't have the overpowering stuff of teammates Jon Gray or German Marquez, but he's been Colorado's most consistent starter in the early going and the club has won both of his starts.

Tensions started bubbling between the two teams Tuesday when Scott Oberg hit Padres outfielder Manuel Margot with a pitch in the ribs, which sent him to the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday.

According to Bud Black in the Rockies pregame media session, Oberg reached out and texted Margot between Tuesday's and Wednesday's action to apologize. The Padres return to Coors Field for another three games on Monday, April 23.

The Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres got into a benches-clearing brawl after Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado charged the mound in the third inning.

Arenado, Perdomo, Marquez, Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra and Padres catcher A.J. Ellis were all ejected. In the next half frame, German Marquez tagged Hunter Renfroe with two outs. Parra reportedly punched Ellis during the scuffle.

We will update you on any long-term suspensions or fines as soon as we learn the details. The Rockies head east to take on the Washington Nationals beginning on Thursday night in a four-game series.
