New Venom Trailer Shows the Symbiote in Action

New Venom Trailer Shows the Symbiote in Action

While this film doesn't exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside the current Spider-Man (Tom Holland), having a Venom movie in a world where the character doesn't at least exist somewhere is very unusual.

A previous Venom trailer released in February focused on Hardy's very human alter ego, reporter Eddie Brock, but no alien. Starring Tom Hardy in the lead, Venom is going to be the first film in Sony's Marvel Universe.

The new trailer for Venom arrived on Monday night showing Tom Hardy and the symbiote finally becoming one...

It's promising that the look of the teaser and the font style takes into account the "Lethal Protector" version of Venom, the character's best iteration.

Sony Pictures has released the new full-length trailer for Venom, the Marvel-based horror-action movie which is loosely set in the same world as Spider-Man: Homecoming, although not officially within the MCU.

Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady (also known as serial killer-turned-alien symbiote Carnage) is still a no-show in the trailer but we did get a look at Jenny Slate. "If you're gonna stay, you will only hurt bad people", he says in the trailer.

Scott Rosenberg ("Jumanji") and Jeff Pinkner ("The Dark Tower"), and Kelly Marcel wrote the script. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal. For the last couple of months, we've been hearing how Sony is keeping it all separated, and Spider-Man is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but every other character that's in the Spider-Man universe is separate. Unlike the mix of CG with a practical costume that was used on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, they will be using motion capture and CG to portray Venom in the film.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom releases on October 5.
