Malaga Vs Real Madrid

Madrid doubled their lead in the 64th minute through Casemiro, who netted from close range following a square ball from Isco, 2-0.

Zinedine Zidane left stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale out of his squad after Madrid survived a dramatic fightback by Juventus in midweek, with Marcelo and Toni Kroos named on the bench.

"Malaga are bottom and maybe they don't deserve to be there", he said. Zidane though, urged his side to keep their levels high, in his pre-match press conference, despite Malaga's lowly position on the table.

Benzema had another shooting opportunity for the visitors in the 14th minute when Isco released the centre-forward, but his effort never threatened to test the home side's goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez.

Mateo Kovacic nearly broke the deadlock with a bullet header from 12 yards after arriving late in the area to attack Vasquez's floated cross but he was denied by a fine one-handed save by Roberto Jimenez to his right. Lucas Vazquez then fired over the Malaga crossbar in the 23rd minute before Benzema headed just wide two minutes later as opportunities continued to arrive for Zidane's team.

The La Liga match between Malaga and Real Madrid will be broadcast live on beIN Sports. Lucas Vazquez nearly got the first goal for Real Madrid after a brilliant link-up play from Isco but the Spaniard was unable to get the opener.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, has had a similarly disappointing league season, although in completely different ways than Malaga.

"I think they are an even better team this season than last", Zidane said.

The home side's first opportunity of the second half fell to substitute Alberto Bueno just before the hour, but the striker could not beat Navas with a header.

The scores were level at the break before the encounter exploded with five second half goals, with the hosts' opener coming courtesy of now-Los Blancos man and former FIFA Golden Boy victor Isco before Sergio Sanchez's own goal tied things up again.

Goals from Isco Alcaraz and Casimero ensured Real Madrid reclaimed third place in the LaLiga table despite a consolatory goal from Diego Rolan in the 90th minute.
