Knicks Get Permission to Talk to Former Coach Mike Woodson

It has been a coaching carousel for the New York Knicks for a while now, especially for star power forward Kristaps Porzingis.

"I think in NY, it's better to have done this before".

Just days after NY terminated head coach Jeff Hornacek, Metta-formerly known as Ron Artest-hit up Twitter to express his interest in the coveted position.

Hornacek finished his time at the Knicks with a 60-104 record, leaving the team looking for a replacement.

"I have an endgame and that endgame is that I would really like to go back to the NBA", Blatt told the Jerusalem Post.

One year ago, Porzingis skipped his exit meeting with then-president Phil Jackson, Mills (the general manager at the time) and Hornacek. "I hope they call me".

NY also planned to contact Jerry Stackhouse - coach of Raptors 905, Toronto's G League affiliate - according to sources.

Last year's drama-filled offseason created concern that Kristaps Porzingis' time in NY would end before it could even truly begin. "There were no changes in the National Basketball Association this year from a coaching standpoint and my real goal is to next year try to get back into the league as a head coach".

While speaking to reporters on Saturday, Porzingis talked about trusting the front office in wake of the team's coaching search.

Here are five things the Knicks should look to accomplish this offseason in order to further accelerate their rebuild. The organization seemed comfortable with the idea of making that offer before Porzingis' injury. The torn ACL he suffered midway through this season is expected to keep him out for at least the first month or so of next season.
