Deputy national security adviser to leave White House amid Bolton reshuffle

Bossert's most prominent role at the White House came after a series of devastating hurricanes hit several US states and Puerto Rico last fall, when Bossert served as the White House's point person for the emergency response and rebuilding efforts.

Forty-three-year-old Bossert is a former deputy national security adviser to President George W Bush who monitored the official response to the mayhem that Hurricane Maria caused in Puerto Rico last year and also the cybersecurity policy. The strategy has set a strong foundation going forward for protecting the homeland, promoting American prosperity, preserving peace through strength and advancing American influence.

Trump often clashed with former national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who gave long-winded, didactic briefings and came under fire from Trump allies.

"I was proud to work with LTG H.R. McMcaster and the National Security Council team".

"We wish Nadia and her family the best".

Homeland security adviser Thomas Bossert left his post Tuesday and National Security Council spokesman Michael Anton resigned Sunday.

Bolton met Thursday with Shotaro Yachi ahead of a Tuesday meeting at the White House between Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Senior White House officials said other personnel changes could happen in the coming days on the National Security Council, which has been weakened under the Trump administration but is expected to gain power under Bolton.

Trump appointed John Bolton, a former US ambassador to the United Nations, to replace McMaster.

Deputy national security adviser Ricky Waddell will be exiting the administration, said two administration officials with knowledge of the decision who were not authorized to speak publicly.
