Comedian Will Ferrell taken to hospital after rollover crash in Southern California

Will Ferrell was hospitalized after a two-vehicle auto crash Thursday night, according to reports. Ferrell was one of the three passengers in the auto.

Ferrell had been riding as a passenger in an SUV that was struck in the two-car incident.

Ferrell, 50, suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to the Associated Press.

Ferrell, who starred in Anchorman, appeared as Ron Burgundy at a amusing or Die event outside of San Diego and was riding back from the event.

According to the statement, which was released by Ferrell's agency UTA, Ferrell and Andrew Steele were "unhurt" by the accident and promptly released from the hospital.

The accident occurred shortly before 11 PM on Interstate 5 south of Alisa Viejo in Orange County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

All four people in Ferrell's vehicle at the time were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"For undetermined reasons", the 22-year-old driver veered to the left and the left-front side of his Toyota hit the right rear of Ferrell's vehicle. The outlet also says the driver of the Toyota walked away unharmed.

Pictures from the evening showed Ferrell dressed as the movie's lead character Ron Burgundy chatting with comedian Bill Eichner.

It's unclear what the cause of the crash was at this time.

Ferrell's manager did not immediately return phone and email messages seeking comment.
