Carrie Underwood talks recovery from fall

She then updated her loyal followers on how her face has healed up after she confirmed in a similar blog post posted on New Year's Eve that she had undergone major surgery on her face after falling outside her home on some hard steps shortly after co-hosting the CMA Awards in November.

"Physically, I'm doing pretty darn good these days!" the country music star wrote in a post to her website Tuesday. Underwood stated that her wrist is 90-percent healed and that her doctors reassured her that the rest would heal up in time. "And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well".

"I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while", she added. I've been calling it "forced relaxation". She will also be releasing more details about her upcoming album and tour in the near future.

She said she is coproducing her new album with writer/producer David Garcia, whom she called "an awesome teacher and partner". Rather than say exactly what we're going to do, I would prefer to keep it a mystery until we do. "It's been challenging and incredibly rewarding to be involved in every aspect from start to finish", she wrote. "David has been an fantastic teacher and partner, and I'm so proud of what we have created". For starters, the superstar is releasing a brand new single called "Cry Pretty" on April 11.

Underwood warned her fans that she is "not quite looking the same" as a result of the facial cuts and the stitches required to close them, Entertainment Tonight reported. It's emotional. It's real. Thank you all so much for your love and support this year and always.

She explained that she had recently teamed up with producer David Garcia to work on a new album. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different'.

Both winners are on TV this week: Kelly's on NBC's The Voice tonight and tomorrow, and Carrie will be performing at the Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday night on CBS. "And it ROCKS!" The Academy of Country Music also revealed that Carrie will be singing "Cry Pretty" onstage at the highly-anticipated ACM Awards on Sunday, April 15.
