ACM Awards mark country music's 'party of the year'

Carrie Underwood is set for a highly anticipated comeback performance at the 2018 ACM awards. Reba McEntire has returned to host. The weekend after she co-hosted the show with Brad Paisley, Underwood fell down the stairs at her Nashville home. It's been just over six months since Aldean's performance at a music festival was tragically cut short, when a gunman opened fire on the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel. This year marks his first nomination for entertainer of the year, where he will battle Garth Brooks, Urban, Bryan and Aldean, who has won the honor the last two years. He's also a contender for male vocalist of the year, album of the year for "From A Room: Volume 1" (nominated as artist and producer), single record of the year for "Broken Halos" (artist and producer) and song of the year for "Whiskey and You" (artist and songwriter). Celebrity presenters will include David Boreanaz, Sam Elliot, Ashton Kutcher, Rebecca Romijn, and Lindsey Vonn. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have their first nomination together as Vocal Duo of the year. McEntire is a 16-time ACM award victor, and she's among the singers competing for Female Vocalist of the Year. After a more than a decade spent with Sony Music Nashville, Underwood switched to Universal Music Group previous year. The ACMs, however, is typically known as the genre's biggest party of the year. "Yes, I would love to'". Those up for Song of the Year this year are the songs "Body Like a Back Road", "Female", "Tin Man", and "Whiskey and You". He was joined onstage by Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett.
