Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' crosses Rs 100 crore mark in China

Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' crosses Rs 100 crore mark in China

When released in 2015, the film had made Rs320.34 crore in domestic box office collections. If we talk about Bollywood films then only Aamir Khan's film, Dangal has entered the 700-800 crores club so that's why this record is not less than an achievement for Bajrangi Bhaijaan superstar. However, Secret Superstar, which released in January had crossed the Rs 200 crore-mark before the closing of the first week. But it is still far behind Aamir's movies. His national award winning film, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" released in China last Friday and now it has earned $ 18.05 million which translates into Rs 117.49 crore.

Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan released with the title "Little Lolita Monkey God Uncle" in China across 8,000 screens.

"The audiences in China are enjoying the story and the direction (of Bajrangi Bhaijaan) which they have found very touching", said Amita Naidu, vice-president (public relations) at Eros International Media Ltd, co-producer of the movie along with Salman Khan Films. The film will see solid trending through its week one and the real test will begin in its second weekend when the global phenomenon Black Panther will hit the China screens and there will be a competition in two local holdover releases. The film is now fifth highest Indian grosser in the global market after Dangal, Baahubali 2, Secret Superstar and PK. The average ticket price in China is $12 compared to $1.5 in India. The much-loved #HindiMedium will be the third Indian film to release in China *in 2018*.

"Bajrangi Bhaijaan is just the first of the film associations Eros is exploring in China".
