Pokemon GO-Esque Jurassic World Alive Gets Release Window

Pokemon GO-Esque Jurassic World Alive Gets Release Window

Since Michael Crichton first opened the gates to those unsafe dinos with his Jurassic Park novel, there has been a whole movie franchise, more merchandise that you shake a raptor claw at, comic books, and many video games of varying success. That is to say that it lets players roam the streets and find AR- projected wild dinosaurs that can be captured via an undisclosed gameplay method. This virtual companion will scan the surrounding area for dinosaurs in your place. Out "This Spring", game developer Ludia will be releasing Jurassic World Alive, an augmented reality game. Gamers are encouraged to catch as numerous 100 dinosaurs (upon initial release) and collect DNA to help make them the biggest beast that they can. The other unique premise seems plucked straight from the recent Jurassic World movies, where players can use their hard-earned DNA to play God and create their own hybrid dinosaurs. Those who will go for it, an in-game incubator awaits them at the time of the game launch.

Mobile game Pokémon Go became an instant hit in mid 2016 thanks largely to its use of augmented reality (AR). You'll also be able to snap a photo with your favorite dinosaurs, level up the beasts you capture, and, unlike in Pokémon Go, you'll be able to battle them with other players. The developer previously worked on 2012's Jurassic Park Builder and 2015's Jurassic World: The Game.

The game will have over 100 dinosaurs at launch but it will be regularly updated with more creatures. With the Jurassic Park brand now 28 years old and showing no signs of slowing down, Jurassic World Alive is a particularly clever move on Universal's side. "We are thrilled to once again work with Ludia and think this will be the biggest and most exciting game in the franchise yet!" With its sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in theaters this June, the franchise thought it'd spice up the release.

If we've made you curious (hopefully we have!), you can register over at JurassicWorldAlive.com and be alerted when the game gets released or stay tuned and we will inform you as soon as possible!
