Metal Gear Survive hidden message praises Hideo Kojima

The Metal Gear Survive grind seems to have captured the attention of many gamers in the last week, despite mediocre review scores, and players are pouring hours into the title.

Kojima had always planned for The Phantom Pain to be his final title in the series, but he and his team reportedly spent the a year ago of development working under constant surveillance by Konami.

Right after you're prompted to enter your name at the beginning of Survive's campaign, you'll see it added to a clipboard among a group of other military code-names.

It appears that a developer on Konami's Metal Gear Survive has placed a secret message in the game. And interesting choice of prefixes for the two, if so.

KJP is considered to be an acronym for Kojima Productions - the studio helmed by Kojima prior to him moving on from Konami. They're a whole lot more obvious than the indirect praise for Kojima Productions. Fans of the series will remember that there was a "wandering Mother Base soldiers" side ops mission line present in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, with the ten initials of soldiers having those exact ten animal names there.

Despite that this being its launch week, Metal Gear Survive isn't doing too well, at least, as far as the United Kingdom sales chart goes. This does entice me to take another look, but knowing that I would have to pay $10 simply for something that should be included in the game, like save slots, definitely makes me want to turn a blind eye.
