League tournaments will have a big impact on NCAA seeding

The NCAA is throwing a changeup this season, likely a reaction to the full bracket being leaked two years ago before the show and complaints about how long it took to get the pairings announced around commercials. I give them a 65% chance to get into the NCAA Tournament, and now they sit and wait for their name to be called on Sunday.

Kansas enters the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri, as the top seed for the 10th straight year and in the running for a No. 1 NCAA seed.

The Wolfpack is the only team on this list to continue their magic into the NCAA tournament. The Jayhawks face the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State victor in Thursday's quarterfinals. Could they do it again in the AAC Tournament?

Wright State's Parker Ernsthausen (22) celebrates with teammates after their 74-57 win over Cleveland State during an NCAA college basketball game for the championship in the Horizon League men's tournament in Detroit, Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

What can help the Cornhuskers and Nittany Lions is if the favorites win the automatic bids in the remaining conference tournaments in order to leave as many at-large berths open as possible. It is insane to say that ASU may not make it when they have two top-ten wins this year (Xavier and Kansas). Arizona began as the No. 3-ranked team in the country in the preseason polls and survived a suspension to guard Allonzo Trier, as well as allegations against head coach Sean Miller, just to come out the other side as the Pac-12 Tournament's No. 1 seed.

Baylor (Last 4 In)- Baylor's first game in the Big 12 Tournament is against West Virginia.

Of course, the NCAA keeps screwing up, which makes it hard to say that these players need to go through the system.

Kansas (24-7) has won or shared the last 14 Big 12 regular-season titles, a feat that seems impossible considering the roster turnover that occurs in college basketball. Last, brackets filling them out are exciting and annoying at the same time. If you play in the ACC or the Big 12, you can pick up one or two more wins, generally, against top 1-50 RPI schools, sweetening that March Madness resume.

Expect a renewed focus from coach Dan Hurley's squad and a return to the form that produced a 16-game win streak midway through the season.

"I felt like we were in the tournament coming into this game regardless of the outcome", Hurley said Wednesday after ASU fell, 97-85.

Marquette (Out)- Marquette won the must-win game against Creighton that I mentioned in the last update, setting them up in a great spot. The betting odds are extremely close for these four schools, meaning we should witness a very entertaining SEC Tournament. In the semis, they beat Michael Jordan and UNC in OT, and in the finals, they narrowly topped the heavily favorited Virginia to win their first Conference Championship in nine years. You don't need to have any prior knowledge of NCAA Division I men's basketball to fill out a bracket, and that's what makes the tournament so enjoyable. He told USA Today, "I don't know why there'd be an uproar".

This year's Selection Sunday is on March 11, and will be televised during a two-hour show on TBS.

The Longhorns are 18-13 and have two wins against Oklahoma on their resume, but beating the Sooners isn't as impressive as it looked at the time.

They lost twice to Purdue during the regular season, but are better than the Boilermakers at this stage.

When a team is referred to as "on the bubble", it means they are right on the borderline of a tournament selection.
