Google Maps is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. You will need to update your app in order to access this feature, but doing so should trigger a prompt that requests permission to replace the standard tracker with Mario.

"We don't encourage throwing bananas or red shells at other drivers in real life!" Once you get to the part where you hit "Go", simply tap the yellow block (you'll definitely recognize it), and Mario will appropriately appear.

But why is March 10 Mario Day, we hear you ask?

A new update for Google Maps on iOS and Android is in the process of rolling out.

So, who knows? Maybe this will bring Mario Kart to phones, someday.

You will, however, have to consider your mobile data plan as Super Mario Run is a game that requires a constant internet connection to work. It might take a day or two for you to be able to see the marker, depending on where you live.

In case you weren't aware, tomorrow is National Mario Day. The feature will last a week, according to a tweet from Nintendo of America.

Then the plumber-turned-hero follows along as you move, marking your destination along the map as you close in. To celebrate the occassion, Google and Nintendo have teamed up to give fans of the Italian plumber something truly special.

To celebrate Mario, an annual holiday has been established - MAR10 Day.

In simple terms, "Mario Mode" changes Google Maps' blue navigation arrow to a go-kart from the "Mario Kart" games.
