Grand Theft Auto 6 Codename - Project Americas, Set In Miami

Grand Theft Auto VI has yet to be confirmed in any way, but there's little doubt that Rockstar Games is indeed working on a new entry in their most popular series. Being tipped as "GTA 6" the rumoured title is being said to be set up in Vice City or Miami.

Citing an "inside source", YouTube channel The Know says the next GTA will be released within the next three to four years.

In addition to Grand Theft Auto 6's potential Vice City setting, The Know's source has intimated that the forthcoming game could feature a female character as one of the main leads, which would be the first time in the series' history. Multiple analysts have suggested that the release of the PlayStation 5 is still a couple of years away, and a title like an impending GTA 6 release date coming to the console could help push some major sales of the brand new system. That will mark almost 10 years since the release of GTA 5, which is a huge gap for pretty much any series.

Rockstar Games, the hit franchise's creator, is yet to comment on the rumour as they prepare their next release, Red Dead Redemption II.

The biggest question mark with all this information of course is GTA Online, which is still making boatloads of money for Rockstar and Take-Two.

With GTA V for the Nintendo Switch rumoured to be in the works this could be a way for Take-Two and Rockstar to prop up profits until 64GB game cartridges are available for the Switch. The usual Premium Race and Time Trial can also be accessed in GTA Online too, with bonus GTA$ and RP for taking part. The Know points out that the name in plural means that players will travel to South America to complete some missions.
