Durant expected to miss at least two weeks

With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson already sidelined for at least the next three games, the team has announced that yet another All-Star, Kevin Durant, will be out at least two weeks with a rib injury.

The lack of scoring showed in the final minutes of the game when, down one point with 40 seconds left, they couldn't just give the ball to a star and have him go get a bucket.

"It's a harrowing experience", coach Steve Kerr joked before the game. "We're not coming in here just to compete". Golden State then opened the third on a 21-7 run and made seven of its first eight shots without any points from Durant.

"We've just got to survive this next slate of games and hopefully start getting guys back and get rolling again for the playoffs", Kerr said.

Durant's MRI results found he had an incomplete rib cartilage fracture, the team confirmed.

Durant said there's still time for the team to heal and get ready for the playoffs. It was a little sore the next couple of games, but not something I would worry about.

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Warriors are a 9.5-point favorite on the spread line.

Thompson is averaging 19.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, all slightly above his career averages. The first of which is on Friday against the Kings. Curry missed his fourth straight game after re-injuring his troublesome right ankle. He and Splash Brother Klay Thompson are both out for at least a four-game stretch and scheduled to be re-evaluated next week. It may mean a few more shots here or there.
