Curry (ankle) won't travel with Warriors

Golden State, the perennial championship favorite, no longer bothers with the regular season. The Warriors have won two of the past three titles, and are the favorites to win a third. As a result, a handful of teams has scrambled to try to catch them, and another handful has decided instead to chase the future.

Stephen Curry, the primary reason for Golden State's three consecutive National Basketball Association finals appearances, also missed three weeks in December after spraining his left ankle.

The Warriors will now hit the road for a two-game trip, starting with the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center and ending with the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center. He left Thursday's game in the second quarter and did not return. Yet, this marks the fourth time this season Curry has experienced injuries with his right ankle.

The video shown above (and below) is from Warriors Report, a Facebook Live show! Durant scored 15 of his 37 points in the final 6:30 of the fourth quarter - including 14 straight. With Curry on the bench, Golden State has been 8.8 points per 100 possessions worse than it is with him on the court. The Warriors got the win 110-107 - their seventh in a row.

It keeps them within touching distance of the Houston Rockets at the top of the Western Conference where they're once again just half a game behind. That's something the Warriors learned the hard way once before.

Since then, Curry's ankles have been nothing more than a minor problem as he's risen to become one of the NBA's elite players. He finished the night with two points in two minutes on Thursday.

"We gotta worry about trying to get wins, winning games", said Aldridge.

Every day in the National Basketball Association there is a lot to unpack, so every weekday morning throughout the season we will give you the three things you need to know from the last 24 hours in the National Basketball Association.

Of course they do.

But with the team taking the cautious decision to give him a couple of days to rest, it would suggest that the point guard may be able to make a quick recovery. The Warriors ensured team balance. Now, four sprains/tweaks/instances later, it is again very much in the present.
