Our warming trend will continue over the next couple of days with a bit of a setback this weekend.

Another small systems comes into the area Sunday and again Tuesday-Wednesday.

Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Unsettled weather conditions will then linger over the islands at least through next week Thursday. Wind gusts could reach 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. However, a high of 53 degrees will prevent any snow accumulation.

The winds will be strong along and north of the Interstate 76 corridor and east of Fort Morgan, according to the NWS.

Today: Isolated showers after noon.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour.

Monday night: A chance of rain and snow.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 64. Winds increase to 15 to 25 miles per hour. Increasing clouds, with a low around 28. Light and variable wind.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 35 and an east northeast wind of 5 to 7 miles per hour, according to the weather service. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 46. North/northwest winds 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 30's. Northeast wind 11 to 13 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Localized amounts up to 12 inches, are possible.

It will turn breezy with a high near 70 degrees. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.

Having sidestepped the nor'easter that bullied its way through the northeast, folks in Northern Virginia can't exactly breathe easy.

Today: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Low: 24. Day: Cloudy with a 100 percent chance for snow.

Friday: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. North northeast wind 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Sunny, with a high near 42.

Friday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 66 and an overnight low of 35.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Wednesday, March 7: High: 30. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.
