At the campaign rally, Trump also offered a preview of his own 2020 re-election race, telling the crowd he's decided on a replacement for his "Make America Great Again" slogan. "I said, 'What do you mean no problem?' 'That means if we catch a drug dealer, death penalty".

"Our new slogan, when we start running, in - can you believe it, two years from now - is going to be, Keep America Great, exclamation point", the President said.

Trump bashed the media, saying reporters hadn't given him enough credit for agreeing to sit down for talks with North Korea that he said would include denuclearization. "We have to get out, and we have to vote".

Trump says countries like Singapore have fewer issues with drug addiction because of how much more harshly they punish their dealers.

In fact, since Trump took office, Democrats have flipped 39 state legislative seats from red to blue, the last two just a few weeks ago in special elections in New Hampshire and CT. And if Pelosi were in charge of the House, he said, Lamb would simply "vote the party line". He also avoids criticizing Trump.

"He's OK. He's all right", Trump said of Lamb.

President Donald Trump, acknowledges the crowd during a campaign rally with Republican Rick Saccone on Saturday. The president repeatedly reminisced about his election, when Pennsylvania helped put him over the top after decades of landing in the Democrats' column. He singled out NBC's Chuck Todd.

But after immediately endorsing Saccone when he hit the stage, Trump pivoted to a 75-minute torrent of policy musings, political attacks and presidential campaign previews.

Pennsylvania's 18th Congressional District has an estimated 17,000 steelworkers and nearly 90,000 voters from union households. "Don't forget, this got us elected", Trump said of his casual, seat-of-the-pants speaking style. He added that Lamb's party leadership opposes his protectionist policy.

It was not the first time Trump had suggested executing drug dealers. Yet it's likely to be popular in the heart of steel country in western Pennsylvania where the president will greet supporters Saturday evening.

The contest is being closely watched as a harbinger of Republicans' prospects in the November elections when the GOP tries to retain its congressional majority.

Saccone is trying to win an election on Tuesday in Pennsylvania's 18th District to replace Republican Tim Murphy, who resigned last fall while enmeshed in a sex scandal. Trump gave a nod to those dynamics, noting talk of Lamb as a handsome candidate. "And I want to help him".

On Sept. 22, Trump held a rally in Huntsville, Alabama, to encourage his supporters to vote in the GOP primary for Luther Strange, who had been appointed to fill the Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, R. While on stage, Trump acknowledged he "might have made a mistake" in endorsing Strange, who went on to lose the primary to Roy Moore, whom numerous president's supporters had endorsed. "There's no one that I would rather have in my corner than President Trump".

"That was what I was advised by the professional people in the department and I felt like I had to recuse myself", said Sessions.
