Zidane: Managing Real Madrid is extremely tiring

Real Madrid came under scrutiny for failing to pull Kroos from the game as his time on the sidelines could have been extended with further damage sustained throughout the match.

Zinedine Zidane's men sit fourth in La Liga after thrashing Real Sociedad 5-2 last weekend.

"It is exhausting, for sure, even more so at Real Madrid", the Frenchman, who had been under considerable pressure prior to the rousing 3-1 win over PSG in the first leg of their last-16 tie, told reporters at the club's Valdebebas training complex on Saturday.

Kroos's absence will be a worry for the Spanish capital outfit, as they seek to do battle on three fronts, including ensuring Champions League qualification for next season, as they now sit in the fourth and final place in La Liga by just five points.

"I want to get to the end of the season". Zidane said: 'It's extremely tiring, for sure, and all the more so at Real Madrid.

The Spanish club says tests revealed Kroos has a sprained ligament in his knee.

The Germany worldwide has been diagnosed with with a sprain to the exterior lateral ligament in his left knee.

The German global suffered knee ligament damage after colliding with Kylian Mbappe in the 34th minute, however Kroos went on to play the entire 90 minutes which saw Los Blancos secure a two goal advantage over the Parisians after notching a 3-1 win, following a double from Cristiano Ronaldo and a strike from Marcelo. "His recovery will continue to be assessed".

That would potentially rule Kroos out of LaLiga matches against Real Betis, Leganes, Alaves and Espanyol.
