Coming to the TV specifics, the Mi TV 4 is the fourth-generation smart TV from Xiaomi.

In line with its commitment to make in India, Xiaomi will manufacture its two new offerings - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro - at its two manufacturing units in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, Xiaomi India said on Wednesday.

I'm going to try to address two questions today - the first is whether the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro have what it takes to build on the success of the Redmi Note 4.

It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC, clocked at up to 2GHz, coupled with the Adreno 506 GPU and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a 2160x1080p pixel resolution.

Despite being the thinnest Redmi Note launched ever, this smartphone has the same 4000mAh battery that will give an impressive two-day battery life. The announcement was made during Xiaomi's product launch event, where it also launched the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro smartphones. The selfie camera also comes with "Portrait Mode" for bokeh effect making it a first for a Xiaomi smartphone.

The Mi TV 4 also hooks into OTT service providers like Hotstar, Voot, Sony LIV, Hungama Play, and ALTBalaji, and while Prime Video isn't available just yet, Xiaomi says that the streaming service should be live on the platform in a few weeks' time. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 comes in a single storage variant - 64GB - which is expandable via microSD card in a hybrid dual-SIM format. The Note 5 can be availed in color choices like Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue. Unlike the Redmi Note 5, this one has 2 variants - 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. It is also the first phone in the industry to sport the Snapdragon 636 processor. Out of the box, it runs on MIUI 9 that's still based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone's high-end model is priced at Rs 16,999.
